Living in a dorm at college can really put a burden on certain things. Things such as space, allowed furniture, closets, cabinets, and beds are all issues that college students deal with when dorming. Another thing to take into consideration is how you plan to decorate your room, because that is the only true thing your are free to do to your room. Expressing your creativity can be challenging with things such as space and not being allowed to bring certain things into your room. It can also be hard if you're not living in a single room and are sharing a room with another person, which what usually happens.
Items that are not usually allowed that people use to express creativity include tapestries, candles, christmas lights, and furniture. But there are ways to still accomplish that without any of those items.
With the help of sticky tack, wall hooks, magazines, and pictures I will show people how they can express themselves in a boring college dorm room.
I have experience in this because this is my third year living on campus. Freshman and sophomore year i lived in a room with someone else, and this year i live in my own bedroom. Living by yourself definitely has it's advantages as your not restricted to what you can put all over your room. When people come into your room they should be able to see what your interests are, what your favorite colors are, and maybe even what type of person you are (whether your clean or not). Whatever the type of person you are though, your creativity and expression should shine through your room. Your dorm room should not put your freedom of expression on hold.
I wasn't really sure what to include for references for my topic since everything is coming from me.
CVS (to print out your pictures and for magazines)
Department stores such as Marshalls for frames, pictures, rugs, pillows, etc.
Pier One Imports
